As a Christian, I believe some of the easiest traps for me to fall into are the ones I have personally set for myself. Sometimes, the hardest things for me to overcome are usually the walls I have personally built with my own hands. And sometimes, the hardest addictions to conquer are the ones I have sub consciously self-inflicted upon myself.
The Reality Is: It’s really easy to get in a habit of doing things OUR way, on OUR time, and for OUR benefit. But, if we are to get really honest with each-other, that is the exact opposite of who Jesus Christ has called us to be.
We need to realize that as Christians, we are NOT the directors of our lives anymore, and that we gave up that right the second we decided to GIVE our lives to HIM. In reality, we are supporting actors who have been blessed with the opportunity to be part of God’s bigger story. This role is not to be taken lightly, and I believe that God’s story is one that will break all box-office records.
When we begin directing our lives the way that we see fit, we will begin to lose touch with our heavenly father. That intimate and personal connection is the very thing that keeps us focused on righteousness, and turned away from worldliness.
Stay focused on your role as a supporting actor, and allow God to direct your life in the way He sees fit. It’s not about US. Trust me, if He can create the world, I’m sure he’s more than capable of directing your life.

Took me awhile to completely let go and let God but I can truly say now that I’ve given Him full control of being the Author of my life story I have never been happier and more fulfilled. Great message!!!

How do I ‘let go and let God’? I’ve prayed and asked Him to lead and direct, but it seems a if the windows of heaven are closed to me sumtimes?! I wud love for Him to ‘have His way’ but getting no feedback. Advice?

When we sense this in our lives, we often try to correct it by creating false challenges. “Come on, let’s win the attendance contest,” and we get all excited about the attendance contest. Or, “Let’s gain a reputation in our church for having a tremendous missionary program, and let’s parade the figures in front of us all through the years as to how much we are giving for missions,” and so we create false challenges and false goals. Not that these things are wrong in themselves. The trouble is, it is done as a group, and the personal challenge in the individual life is gone.
Thanks for sharing Jarrid, this really spoke to me. :) It is a good reminder to let God have his way, and deal with the rough days when you are trying to follow his directions, and ask him for strength along the way to make it through. In the end, you will be able to make it to what he is promising. A good reminder, to hold on to his promises.

music is one of best things that the lord jesus christ ever blessed me with as far as talent and a very good ear. the best is a good heart to allow myself to go through all that i have been going through. I know that im no fool for anybody to play with and all my angels have my back and front. lol. I must say life is a challenge and i am a good person so i know ill be fine. i just have to stay focused on my goals.
