Within the last few days, a theme of “Brokenness” has taken point over my times of study and devotion. Whether it be my own brokenness, or the brokenness I see in others, Jesus provides a beautiful antidote for anyone going through a tough time.
At one point we have all have felt:
1) Broken
2) Useless
3) Abused
4) Hurt
5) Worn out
6) Depressed
7) Guilty
8) Weak
9) Addicted
10) Dirty
And if you have NEVER felt one of these, I’d love to hear your God-given secret to perfection.
The reality is that all of us are broken, but don’t confuse brokenness with uselessness. Just because you are broken does not mean God can’t use you. In fact, 99% of the people Jesus used for His ministry were broken, addicted, weak, and dirty. Dig into the depths of scripture and see for yourself.
Don’t let Satan confuse your brokenness for uselessness.
Through the power of Jesus Christ:
1) You are useable.
2) You are beautiful.
3) You are able.
4) You are capable.
God uses broken people to bring HOPE to a broken world.
Romans 8:11 – The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
We are the army of the broken, finding restoration and power through the hope of Jesus Christ.

Umm, very true.
This is great, just what I needed to read. The last few days have been hard, but this text helped me, thank you so much!
God bless you!
Very well said and what so many need to read/hear. Thanks for sharing!
This is so on point and so inspiring, especially to those who feel inadequate to recieving His love. That’s why it’s so important to share our testimonies and struggles because they are just as real as our neighbor’s and HE LOVES US ANYWAY! There is a place for each of us in the kingdom :)
Simple and to the point, Love it, Thanks!
THank you for Your effort about these things I am Totally Broken and Shy to Worship Him to what my status really are i feel so bad and Shy to God so i let myself not to involve about Him anymore And whenever i See your Post I feel I’m not totally Broken and uselessness infact i’m Am His Ambasador. :)
I love the last line “We are the army of the broken, finding restoration and power through the hope of Jesus Christ.” AWESOME! God DOES use the weak things of this world to confound the wise, and show Himself out, coz when He comes through, everyone will be like, what did you do, how did you do that? And you go like, its all God! Put here to glorify Him!God bless you Jarrid! You are an inspiration!
brokeness, is where i found HIM @ work in me…..BUSY-BUSY!! I love what He’s doin in that process of transformation! I dont like it sometimes, it hurts & realize its only as hard as I make it……I wish i could stay in that mindset, of brokeness……theres just too many lessons for me to learn still…..suffiecent enough for each day is the evil thereof!!!!!!
Loved hearing you speak at the ID2012 workshop!!!!
I’ve been having such a rough few days. I’m so glad I found this. I know I’m not alone. Also, I found these couple verses; “The Lord hears His people when they call to Him; He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (Psalms 34:17-18) God truly does love us and He will always be there for us when everyone else seems to stray away. Keep up the faith!
Thanks, Jarrid! Good reminder. We are broken bread and poured out wine for The Lord to use. Only when we are broken can The Lord use us to feed others. God bless!
not useless but usable, beautiful, able, and capable because of Jesus.
okay.
